Osthoff advocates an active strategy of moving the nymph, applying effective casting and creative presentation techniques that will attract the most elusive trout. With comprehensive advice on rigging and prospecting, practice tips for a wide variety of casts, and strategies for precise control to bring your nymph to life, this is your guide to becoming a truly versatile angler.

Rich proposes quite a few different nymphing methods that I had not used before. To some up his philosophy: fishing bigger, bolder nymphs on mostly tight lines, with little use of tandem flies. For 99% of fly fishermen, this is the exact opposite of how they usually nymph: long line, dead drifting double nymph rigs. I definitely fall into that 99% and look forward to utilizing some of his suggestions this season. Highly recommended!
